RC Empire Medical Center is a network of general practice clinics delivering comprehensive primary and specialist care through strategic partnerships. We serve communities from branches in Ruacana, Outapi, and Tsandi, each staffed by dedicated teams committed to high standards of clinical care and health education.

Our history
Imagination births all creation
Our story started with a desire to reconnect with the communities and landscapes of Ruacana in the Omusati Region. “Ruacana” comes from Otjiherero Orua Hakahana, meaning “the hurrying of the water”, a fitting name for the falls. Like Mosi-oa-Tunya, “the smoke that thunders” of Victoria Falls in Zambia, Ruacana’s name reflects the power of its natural heritage. RC is an abbreviation for Ruacana.

Our founder dreamed of living in Ruacana after completing his studies in the Russian Federation. To live there meant to work there. In 2015, he approached the Ruacana Town Council for land to establish a medical practice, and the request was granted. RC Empire PTY Ltd was founded and registered in 2016.

In July 2020, we opened our first branch in a small, rented space in Ruacana-Oshifo. The practice operated part-time, with Dr. Ruben Kanime seeing booked patients in the afternoons after his morning shifts at Onesi Health Center. On weekends, locum doctors including Dr. Kandimba, Dr. Awala, and Dr. Matheus supported the clinic. This continued for nine months until Dr. Kanime was promoted to head Tsandi District Health and Social Services. From then, the branch relied on locums while building an early specialist network through smart partnerships with Dr. Haitembu (Dermatology) Dr. Nailonga,(Surgery) Dr. Shituleni [Orthopedic Surgery], and Dr. Nangombe [Obstetrics & Gynecology]

We expanded in November 2022 with our second branch in Tsandi, led by Dr. Katri Kalukambe. In December 2023, we opened a larger third branch in Outapi town, marking the growing reach of our mission. Dr. Lydia Kandimba served as Outapi’s first doctor for over three years.

In February 2026, our founder rejoined RC Empire Medical Center full-time at the Tsandi branch. From a practice that started with one receptionist and one part-time doctor, we have grown into an organization of 15 staff members. We continue to be supported by Dr. Jatileni (Colorectal Surgeon) and Dr. Sheetekela ( Obstetrician and Gynaecologist)
